Chuck-E-Cheese's

Clayson was a little curious about the trash can today. He discovered he can lift the lid..."uh-oh"
This afternoon my mom took my cousin Tiffany's son, Tristyn to Chuck-E-Cheese's. He asked if Alexandria could go too, so Alexandria, Clayson and I went. Alexandria was sad when the fun came to an end...

I really think they look like they could be brother and sister which is weird...they're 3rd cousins.

Weekend Full of Fun

We had a fun weekend. The weather has been GEORGEOUS! It's been between 75 and 80. It all started Friday night after James got off work. We went to Costco. I know that doesn't sound like fun, but it was. Alexandria had fun on James' shoulders and Clayson enjoyed being in the basket playing with his bowl of snacks. He kept dropping the bowl on the ground and I'd say, "uh-oh." After a few times he too began saying "uh-oh." I was so excited...this is his first word (is it really a word?)...other than "mama" and "dada."

Saturday morning we got up and headed to I.H.O.P. after having seen the Dr. Seuss movie "Horton Hears a Who" or as Alexandria says "Horton Whose a Who." They have a breakfast menu based on the movie. Alexandria enjoyed her JoeJoe pancakes...but our food was nasty!!!

Later Saturday afternoon we went to my grandparent's development and played all afternoon in their park/grassy-area. There is nothing but grass, trees, a few benches and open space out there. We set up our own little play area and Alexandria and Clayson had so much fun. As did Gaga, Mommy and Daddy.

Saturday night Alexandria and Daddy had fun staining thier hands decorating Easter eggs. It was a messy job. I don't know who enjoyed it more...James or Alexandria.

After waking up Easter Sunday we realized the Easter Bunny had come. Clayson enjoyed his toys, although he doesn't quite understand. And of course Alexandria was excited. Auntie Alise informed Alexandria that the Easter Bunny and Santa are best friends. Now everything she sees she says she wants Santa to bring it to her for Christmas. She obviously has no concept of time...Christmas is a long way off. After Church we went to Mamaw & Papaw's for yummy food. Alexandria couldn't wait to have an egg hunt. She had so much fun. Uncle Josh and Daddy hid them in some hard-to-find places, but hopefully we found them all. Clayson got 2 eggs. He was very interested in the real eggs. He picked one out of his basket and tried to eat it. He got a taste of Uncle Josh's egg and he liked it. Auntie didn't quite appreciate Clayson spitting the egg into her straw. She went to take a sip of coffee and had egg. NASTY!!! As you can see...we had a weekend full of fun!!!

We hope all of you had a great Easter and a good start to your Spring!

At the park with Mason & Morgan

Alexandria had a blast this afternoon with Mason and Morgan at the park. Just before we were ready to leave, I remembered I had brought some bubbles. I remember how much I loved bubbles as a kid. It was so entertaining watching Alexandria, Mason and Morgan's excitement. Clayson was so quiet and just watched them as they blew their bubbles all around. It's funny to see how little things like bubbles can be such huge adventures for kids.

Interesting Facts about Easter

A friend of mine sent me an e-mail about the day Easter falls on our calendar. I found it interesting and decided to share...

Easter is always the 1st Sunday after the 1st full moon after the Spring Equinox (which is March 20). This dating of Easter is based on the lunar calendar that Hebrew people used to identify passover, which is why it moves around on our Roman calendar.

Here's the interesting info...

This year is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see the rest of our lives! And only the most elderly of our population have ever seen it this early (95 years old or above!). And none of us have ever, or will ever, see it a day earlier!

Here are the facts:
1) The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year 2228 (220 years from now). The last time it was this early was 1913 (so if you're 95 or older, you are the only ones that were around fo that!).

2) The next time it will be a day earlier, March 22, will be in the year 2285 (277 years from now). The last time it was on March 22 was 1818. So, no one alive today has or will ever see it any earlier than this year!

Making Cookies

Linda, Ashley & Kristen Giardina were here for a quick visit. They left this morning to drive from Tulare, CA to Medford, MA. They're hoping to be home for Easter. Alexandria was sad when they left our house last night.

After dinner last night we made sugar cookies. Alexandria had a blast decorating them...and as you can see, so did Kristen.

Can you guess which cookies Alexandria decorated?

Art Gallery

Mommy, Clayson, Uncle Joey, Gaga, Daddy & Lil Miss Grumpy Artist

Last Friday night we attended the Children's House Montessori's 11th Annual Art Gallery. It was exciting for Alexandria. We purchased her art work in advance so there was a "sold" sign on each of her three masterpieces. After looking at the artwork I questioned her teachers about it. It didn't look like something a child could have created on their own. I was told that the art teacher worked one-on-one with each child on every piece of art. The teachers did all the cutting out and borders. The students glued, colored in and designed their art. I'm looking forward to bringing her work home and I've dedicated a wall just for her art work.

Alexandria wanted to help make cupcakes...She got very grossed out when it came time to crack the eggs and she tossed the egg in the bowl.

Trying to escape?

Car Seat Recall

There has been a car set recall. And it just so happens it is Clayson's car seat. Notify anyone you know that has the Combi Centre, Centre ARB, or Shuttle car seat that was manufactured between 2005 and 2007. After testing the car seats, they found that the car seat can disattach from the base. Until a special kit is obtained, use the car seat without the base. For more information see the website. www.combi-intl.com
