Our Holiday

Alexandria was just as we expected for Christmas .... exciting!

She was more interested in taking the paper off her gifts rather than what was behind the paper. After she opened all her gifts she was ready to play and try clothes on.

Alise and Josh bought her some Army PT's (it's what they wear when they're doing their physical training). She wouldn't take them off. She said they were her PTZ's.

They kept everything they bought her a secret from all of us. Alise is always giving Alexandria candy so Alise and Josh bought Alexandria a candy machine. We're hoping it's going to help potty train her.

After Christmas we went to Sierra Summit for 2 days. On the way up there it was snowing. It was so beautiful! Alexandria went to the snow with us when she was 3 months old...but I doubt if she remembers that. So basically this was her first experience with snow. We figured she's be afraid but when I first put her down she touched it and began to eat it. She said "I dove dis ice mommy."

It was hard to keep her from eating the snow the whole trip. She fell a few times, but got right up and continued. Before we left we took her to a "Sno Park" where she could go sledding. It was lots of fun for all of us.

Merry Christmas

We took family pictures today and Alexandria had a good time trying to get everyone else to smile. But when it came time for us to get her to smile it was a job. The little puppy she has in her hand (she thinks it's a cat) was difficult to get away from her. The only person she would let hold it was Uncle Josh. She has been very attached to him since he and Alise came home. It's going to be rough when they have to go back to Texas.

We're really looking forward to Christmas Eve (that's when we open gifts from one another). Alexandria is so excited. She's going to be so much fun!!! And then Santa will come that night and she'll have presents from him Christmas morning. The other day we went to see Santa and she was okay until she looked at him. We got a picture, but James and I had to be in it and she was pouting. She didn't even want to tell him what she wanted. (That's okay...I think he already knows) We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

An Overdue Update

Hi Everyone! It's been a while since I last sent an update. Things have been crazy. I've set up this blog in hopes to update often and post some new pictures and a little something about what's going on in our lives.

Alexandria:
Alexandria is very excited about Christmas. She thinks all the presents under our tree are for Uncle Josh. (I told her she couldn't open them until he came home). Alise and Josh arrived yesterday and Alexandria was so excited. She actually broke her bedtime record. We didn't go to sleep until 2am. And we're not making this a habit.
Her vocabulary really amazes me. She says everything!!! She tells us all the time to wait because she's busy. She's finally learning what it means to take turns with people. But the sharing is not quite mastered. She thinks everyone should share with her and that it doesn't apply to her. She's truly a blast!

James:
James has been having tests ran on his hip. He broke it when he was 10 and has been having some discomfort lately. So far they've discovered that he has a cyst. We're waiting on an appointment with an Orthopedic Specialist. Also, he recently got laid off his job because the construction business is very slow. Fortunately, the same day he found an even better job. Strange how God works.
Marise:
Well I'm now 13 1/2 weeks pregnant (Due June 24th). I've been feeling pretty good. On the 30th we're going to have a 3D Ultrasound and hopefully they will be able to determine the sex of the baby. James is hoping for a Boy and My mom and Alise are hoping for a Girl. I don't care either way. This pregnancy has been very different but just as exciting. Today I'm taking my last final for the semester (YEAH!). I'm off until mid-January then I graduate in May with my BA. I'm very anxious.

We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and we'll be posting more pictures soon.

Love,
James, Marise and Alexandria
